Core Four: Evaluate

December 23, 2025 By Mike Sorcinelli

RWMC is an acronym that helps us easily remember the four questions we have to ask ourselves each week about our Sunday services….

R stands for what went right?
W stands for what went wrong?
M stands for what was missing?
And C stands for what was confusing?

And these are the four questions you want to ask about every Sunday service. So here’s what you do: Make a note on your phone that you label RWMC. Under that make four headings: 1) right, 2) wrong, 3) missing, 4) confusing. Then, on Sunday, as you notice different things (good and bad), write them down under the appropriate heading. Come Monday, have the campus pastor of each location lead their team in a RWMC meeting, where everyone shares their notes.

Now let’s pretend I’m in that meeting. Here’s what I would share…

Right: worship team killed it, new video went over really well, we had 5 salvations, we had 3 new volunteers sign up for setup
Wrong: the mic wasn’t on when I started talking, the service went past 65 minutes, I asked a man if the woman with him was his mom and it turned out she was his girlfriend…whoops!
Missing: there weren’t enough worship guides for each guest, we ran out of breath mints for the greeters, we missed the in between service huddle between first and second service
Confusing: we announced a church picnic but didn’t say where, I forgot to read the Scripture that went with point #2, our signage wasn’t in the right place and a first time guest didn’t know where to go

Now after the meeting, the rest of my work week is going to be to work on whatever was wrong, missing or confusing. And the campus should follow up on key items the last day of the work week, to ensure that the upcoming Sunday will be better than the last.

In this way we get a little better each week. And as they say “You don’t focus on getting bigger. You focus on getting better. And when you get better, you’ll get bigger.”
