Most leaders look for readiness.
Developers look for potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ISIN Principle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI See In You\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great leaders don\u2019t just manage what is; they call out what could be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Think about your own life for a second.
How many times have you doubted yourself? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Has there ever been a time in your life when someone else saw something in you before you saw it in yourself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That moment, when someone names potential in you, can change everything.
It can ignite confidence, growth, and a whole new direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biblical Foundation: Jesus & Peter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In John 1, the first time Jesus meets Simon, He says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas (which translates to Peter).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s what\u2019s powerful about that moment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simon wasn\u2019t Peter yet.
He was impulsive, emotional, and inconsistent.
Definitely not \u201cthe Rock\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when a rabbi gave someone a new name, it wasn\u2019t casual; it was prophetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus was saying
\u201cI see who you can become.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then He didn\u2019t stop there<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He built relationship
He provided teaching
He created challenge
He walked him through development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over time, Simon became Peter.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership Shift: From Placing to Developing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a big difference between placing leaders and developing leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Placing leaders says, \u201cThey seem ready, let\u2019s give them a role.\u201d
Developing leaders says, \u201cI see potential, let\u2019s grow them into it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most leaders scan the room asking, \u201cWho is ready right now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Developers ask, \u201cWho could this person become in a year if I invest in them?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That shift changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Problem: Winging It<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of leaders believe in development, but in practice, they\u2019re winging it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They promote someone because they\u2019re faithful. They throw them into the deep end. .They hope they figure it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes it works. But often confidence drops, frustration rises, and burnout follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winging it fills roles. It rarely multiplies leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Solution: Intentional Development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multiplying leaders requires a clear pathway, defined expectations, intentional growth steps, and a reproducible process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When leaders know the path, they stop guessing.
And when they stop guessing, they start multiplying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practical Application: Practice ISIN In Your Department!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s your challenge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find someone this week and say
\u201cI see in you\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be specific. Call it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI see leadership in you.\u201d
\u201cI see compassion in you.\u201d
\u201cI see the ability to influence people.\u201d
\u201cI see potential you haven\u2019t stepped into yet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then don\u2019t just say it. Walk with them toward it. Invite them to come alongside you, where you can provide the teaching, modeling, delegating, and coaching they need to become their own multiplying leaders!
