Here&#8217;s eleven\u00a0reasons why:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Proverbs 2:3 says &#8220;cry out for insight and understanding&#8230;&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 4:7 says &#8220;Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do!<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 8:10 says &#8220;Choose instruction rather than silver, and knowledge over pure gold. For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies.<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 12:15 says &#8220;Fools think they need no advice, but the wise listen to others.<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 13:10 says &#8220;&#8230;those who take advice are wise.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 17:16 says &#8220;How much better to get wisdom than gold, and understanding than silver!&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 18:15 says &#8220;Intelligent people are always open to new ideas. In fact, they look for them.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 19:8 says &#8220;To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 19:20 says &#8220;Get all the advice and instruction you can&#8230;&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 19:27 says &#8220;If you stop listening to instruction&#8230;you have turned your back on knowledge.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Proverbs 23:12 says &#8220;Commit yourself to instruction; attune your ears to hear words of knowledge.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Basketball coach John Wooden said: &#8220;When you&#8217;re through learning, you&#8217;re through!&#8221; I couldn&#8217;t agree more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I dedicate a good chunk of time each week to professional development.
