In this post I hope to help you prepare for that task. A\u00a0 good annual report begins with a rock solid\u00a0understanding of <em>the purpose<\/em> <em>of your board<\/em>. A board exists to guard three things:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The mission<\/li>\n<li>The money<\/li>\n<li>The message<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The board is there to make sure the lead pastor is\u00a0leading the church in fulfilling Jesus&#8217; Great Commission (for that&#8217;s the <em>mission<\/em> of every church). The board is there to make sure the lead pastor\u00a0is using the <em>money<\/em> given to the church to advance the mission of the church. The board is there to make sure the\u00a0<em>message<\/em>\u00a0the lead pastor is\u00a0preaching is doctrinally sound and that the preaching calendar is well rounded. Once you understand the purpose of the board, you&#8217;re now ready to begin preparing your\u00a0report.
